Boosting Enrollment Through Website Redesign

Overview

Community Youth Development Institute (CYDI) is an alternative high school providing educational programs and support for underserved students in the community. CYDI was struggling with decreasing admissions due to a complex online enrollment process.

To address this, CYDI partnered with Savvy Consulting & Communications to redesign their website and optimize the admission process.

Strategy

As Savvy’s project lead, I worked closely with the CYDI team to implement key solutions:

  • Simplified the application by reducing form fields and steps required to initiate enrollment
  • Added confirmation emails and reminders to prompt completing all steps
  • Implemented a live chat option for real-time help during enrollment
  • Enhanced data integration with CYDI’s student information system

Results

In the first year after launching the redesigned website, CYDI increased student enrollment from 156 to 183 students—a 17% boost.

The updated online admission process played a key role in removing barriers and supporting this growth. By optimizing the website, our work assisted more students in enrolling at CYDI alternative high school.

This helped CYDI better fulfill its mission of providing educational opportunities to underserved youth in the community. Ongoing improvements will further enhance the online enrollment experience.
